The app throws some errors when it builds (around 12), but it does build for me.

I'm sure I'd make a lot of happy new friends from the tv and film companies' legal department if I started circulating my hack. I can say, though, that lines in the app that say "EMI" are evil. hint...hint... :)

Hey, I feel the exact same way. Unfortunately I am a Java programmer; I haven't been able to learn any Cocoa as I've been busy with school. I opened the avc project in xcode, it does not build; I get near 148 errors. Any clue as to why this might be? I'm not quite the experienced programmer, (although I did receive an A in my intro Java course) but my guess is that there is some statement that checks to see what the protection flag and based on that information it either records or not. I know that this might be a stretch, but would you be willing to share the modified application with me? Thanks for your time. -Cool6324

Three words: DRM is doomed. I hate it when I buy something that will get spit from my DVD player because of who knows what. I'm far from being a cracker/hacker.

Sad story: Videos 86-98. My Mac got indignant and never played it. Tried on the living room DVD. Same story. Tried on a PC. I never could see it. Brother ripped it and problem solved. =P

I read this in boingboing.net:
"There is no future in which bits will get harder to copy. Instead of spending billions on technologies that attack paying customers, the studios should be confronting that reality and figuring out how to make a living in a world where copying will get easier and easier."

Doh.
