On December 17th, 2005, my girlfriend (at the time) decided to take my heart, and crush it. Think of the scene from The Simpsons episode "The New Kid On The Block, where Sara Gilbert (Darlene from the TV show "Roseanne") plays Laura Powers, a girl Bart is attracted to. Towards the end of the episode, Laura breaks Bart's heart. The scene cuts away to a shot of Laura reaching into Bart's chest, ripping out his heart, and drop-kicking his heart against a wall, which gravity then slowly pulls the heart down to a waiting trash can. That right there was how I felt on December 17th, 2005.
