From time to time, I like to take a few minutes, and make little movies. Nothing "epic". Just fun little clips.

Pop some popcorn, and enjoy the clips...

Tale Of Mail 2

CLIP DEBUT: April 8th, 2008

DESCRIPTION:
EMI are cutting back on costs. Sadly, one of those cutbacks is on shipping. Goodbye next day package. Hello month-plus delayed sea mail packages, beat to crap. (mock army voice) "We lost two good CDs on this shipment". Lame.

Asif Does A Little Dance

CLIP DEBUT: January 3rd, 2008

DESCRIPTION:
Not that much to describe, really. Asif, a man who takes his love of his Toyota Tacoma truck to borderline illegal levels, does a little dance when he manages to get a few Hon filing cabinets in the back bed of the truck.

Peanuts Christmastime (BRAT Holiday Mashup)

CLIP DEBUT: December 17th, 2007

DESCRIPTION:
The lead track from the 2007 BRAT Productions Holiday CD...with video! Thanks to Nora digging up the (apparently) only DVD copy of "A Charlie Brown Christmas" in North America, I set forth re-editing the video to match my little mashup. I think it turned out rather nicely.

Paul McCartney - "Wonderful Christmastime" (acapella, taken from the center DTS surround channel of the new McCartney Years DVD).

Vince Guaraldi - "Linus And Lucy", from A Charlie Brown Christmas.

A Tale Of Mail (or, how the USPS jacked up some posters)

CLIP DEBUT: October 28th,2007

DESCRIPTION:
I truly hate receiving things through standard mail. *IF* I receive the packages, they are usually trashed beyond repair.

Here is an example, using a current package - Dave Gahan promotional posters.

The United States Postal Service...quality! :P

Must. Hit. Pole...TOO!

CLIP DEBUT: October 28th, 2007

DESCRIPTION:
When the daily task of moderating comments gets too mentally exhausting, I blow off steam at the local batting cage. Hey, it's better than going on a rage powered spree of destruction...

While at "the cage", I always try to hit the center pole. To paraphrase "It's A Wonderful Life", "Every time I hit the poll, a troll ceases to exist". :P

It had been a while since I brought my little digital camera (Fuji F40) to film "the cage", so I thought I'd inflict this upon you all.

Enjoy the video. Hope I helped you kill two minutes at work.

Depeche Mode Remasters Party - 10/19/07

CLIP DEBUT: October 22nd, 2007

DESCRIPTION:
We had a release party at Vertigo's in Los Angeles on October 19th, for the new (at the time) Depeche Mode remasters. 75 minutes in, the power blew...for the whole block! Street lights, signals...and the club!

A few hundred people inside (it was still early), and a line outside. Zap. No more power...

Sucks!

Here's a snippet of people partying before the power died (I had my camcorder sitting on a little tripod behind me).

Irony: the song I was going to go into just before the power died? Enjoy The Silence. :P

The video is a little on the dark side (I was concentrating more on the mixing than the video quality), but you can get an idea of how good the night was going, based on the crowd reaction and the mixing. It's a shame. It was shaping up to be a great night. We did have a make-up night on November 17th, 2007, at The Grand Star Jazz Club (The Depeche Mode "Do Over" Release Party). While a great night, it was a smaller club. Oh well. At least everyone had fun both nights, and many people got to go home with DM prizes from my garage/storage.

Depeche Mode Release Party - November 20th, 2006

CLIP DEBUT: November 22nd, 2006

DESCRIPTION:
On November 20th, 2006, there was a Depeche Mode Release Party in Hollywood, California, at Cinespace. The band's manager gave me the ok to arrange a special release party for all the recent releases ("Touring The Angel: Live In Milan" live DVD, "The Best Of Depeche Mode Volume 1" CD + DVD, the recent Remasters and the "Martyr" single). So, along with JAM007 (Joe), we planned a special DM night for all the SoCal DM fans.

It was also an opportunity to truly test out the new ScratchLive system I picked up (bedroom trials don't count). If you are a DJ, and are not using this, get with the times! Laptop, hard drive, and two controller records. HEAVEN! You can concentrate on the mixing, and not trying to find a song. Speaking of...

Not only did I have the entire Depeche Mode catalog ripped to the hard drive, but also a number of rarities, and loads of acapellas (including a number of acapellas extracted from the recent 5.1 surround sound Remastered catalog). Mashup heaven. Sadly, I was in such a rush to set up, that I did not have time to hook up my camcorder. Joe, however, shot a few minutes on his digital camera. Here is that footage...

Funny observation. I've never really watched myself DJ before. I was immediately reminded of 9th grade. In 9th grade, I took Violin class. The teacher was always insistent that we keep our pinky fingers up while bowing. Watching the video, it appears I haven't broken that habit. It gave me a good chuckle. I appear to DJ "gay". Well...I do work for Depeche Mode... :)

My 36th birthday...at Millie's

CLIP DEBUT: February 21st, 2006

DESCRIPTION:
On October 24th, 2005, I hung out with my friends Libeid, Asif and Ray in...Covina. Take a moment to soak that in - I had a girlfriend at the time, but I spent my birthday with dudes...in Covina. While I love my brothers, I would have expected my girlfriend to want to be with me on such a day. Regardless...let's move on.

So - I always had my little Fuji F10 (digital camera, one gig memory card) on me, and this night was no exception. I consider this video the absolute defining clip of these three guys. Once you watch this, you will know everything you need to know about them. :)

And...since the song will get stuck in your damn brain, here is a link to buy Daniel Bedingfield's "If You're Not The One" from iTunes. ;)

Must. Hit. Pole!

CLIP DEBUT: February 20th, 2006

DESCRIPTION:
I find myself blowing off a LOT of steam in the local batting cage. While there, my main thing to attempt to do is to hit the center pole (much to the disgust of the batting cage employees). Here's just a random attempt at hitting the pole (for the record: 100 pitches, with 3 pole hits).

Maxtor sucks!

CLIP DEBUT: February 9th, 2005

DESCRIPTION:
With all of the audio, video and web work that I do on a daily basis, it goes without saying that I need a lot of hard drive space. Sadly, I am also the king of killing hard drives, due to the fact that I run the drives almost constantly, 24/7. Even worse, it took me a few years to discover that Maxtor has to make, by far, the worst hard drives around! This little movie is part of my healing process.

I almost hesitate to mention that this video is brought to you by the LaCie Porsche 160 FireWire hard drive. With my luck, now these damn things will die as well!
