It has been a while, hasn't it?

A week or so back, I was preparing some social media posts for Freakbeat Records, who have been clients of mine for a few years now. As I was messing around with audio ideas, I decided to do something I have hesitated doing for a while: A Christmas mix (Mom loved Christmas, Mom passed, she's not around to enjoy the mix, yada yada...In the same way I refuse to take time to mourn, I'll skip this bit and get to the fun mashup...wheee)

Basically just to see if anyone ever pays attention to audio on Instagram, I always throw a custom mashup or edit on the videos I make for Freakbeat Records. This time, I was trying out ideas with Marian Carey's acapella. After a bit of iTunes Library searching, I hit "25 Or 6 To 4" by Chicago. It sounded damn cool, so I did a little hack - on my phone! - and put it on some of the shop's videos. Immediately, I started getting direct messages and texts from people: "Finish the mix!"

Ok.

Using bits from Rock Band (thank you FOREVER, Harmonix!), and a shockingly clean Mariah acapella (which I went and separated Mariah from her background singers), here is the mix. Highlight: the middle break. I took a idea I did for the mix I did for "Mercy In You" by Depeche Mode, and completely re-edited / repitched the Chicago bassline and horns. Sounds cool, doesn't it?
