DESCRIPTION:
"Only When I Lose Myself", the 1998 single from Depeche Mode, was an "ok" track. For me, I fucking loved the b-side of the single: "Surrender". While I did "official" radio edits of "Only When I Lose Myself" (only one of which came out on a promo CD- disc) for Reprise Records, I also did this radio edit of "Surrender" for KROQ (specifically Richard Blade).
Richard did play the edit, but it was not "playlisted". Sadly, it didn't catch on enough. I'm still as a loss how listeners didn't set the phone lines on fire for the song.
From one of the last DAT tapes I ever recorded (in 1998), here's my edit of "Surrender".
